Locked
This is right up the street from my kolej, on prague's band building. I hear them practicing from time to time. I walk by this every day and have always wanted to take a photo, finally did it. It amazes me how much the bars around this place are rusted. The older they get, the more layers time tries to peel off.
Haven't really uploaded anything recently, been very busy with finals and papers, etc...But the end of Prague is around the corner for me, 3 more days- I know I'll miss this place but I'm extremely excited to get back home. Especially looking forward to seeing someone special.

100.000 judíos
Para mi fue el lugar más impresionante. Entre sinagogas se encuentra el cementerio judío, que guarda a unos 100.000 judíos en un espacio donde caben unas 12.000 lápidas amontonadas de mala manera (en la imagen se ve sólo una parte del recinto). Los cristianos no les vendían más terrenos, por lo que esta imagen de tumbas caóticamente dispuestas ya existía desde su origen cuando el espacio se quedó pequeño.
Al pasear por allí descubres que hay cientos de tumbas con piedrecitas puestas encima. Los judíos rechazan el depositar flores en las tumbas, y tienen la costumbre de depositar o arrojar piedrecitas sobre las lápidas.
This is one of the most impressive places in Prague. The Old Jewish Cemetery has approximately 12.000 tombstones but in these space there may be more than 100.000 jewish buryed there because Christans did'n want to sell more plots of land to them, so during generations, the used the same space.

Prague
It's titled "Wenceslas Riding an Upsidedown Horse", and was sculpted in 1992, three years after the end of Communist rule. It was to symbolize the topsy-turvy days of free enterprise, and what Wenceslas would think of it all.

Statue of Jan Hus (1372-1415), Prague, Czech Republic
This is a photograph that I took of a memorial statue that was dedicated in 1915 to the Protestant reformer Jan Hus (1372 - 1415). Hus was strongly influenced by the English reformer John Wycliffe and spent a large portion of his life working to reform the Roman Catholic Church. He strongly opposed the Church's use of indulgences. Hus was subsequently arrested and prosecuted for his heretical crimes against the church. Hus refused to recant his ideologies and was sentenced to death by a Catholic tribunal. He was burned at the stake in Prague on July 6, 1415. July 6th is observed as a national holiday in the Czech Republic as "Jan Hus Day." At his death, he predicted the coming off a great reformer in 100 years....102 years later, Martin Luther was born.
