The picture was taken on the Charles Bridge. We heard two traditions why people touch the St. John of Nepomuk statue: 1) you will return to Prague (guidebook) and 2) you can make a wish (overheard from a tour guide). The beautiful part is how "clean" the part that people have rubbed is when compared with the rest of the statue, which is covered in a thick layer of black dirt.

Prague
