Prague Castle, 'Man of Fertility'

(photo and comment: Pedrito Fena)

So the truth is that this statue is contemporary art without the precise meaning. Just simple bronze statue, but during the times "the legend" about the fertility developed ( I guess for tourist) :)

So now "the legend" says that if a woman touches his penis, it will improve her fertility, and soon she will have baby. That's why I put there my comment about my gf touching his penis. Scary :) Hence the name Man of Fertility :))

Obviously as you can see on the statue, the penis is really polished, by so many touches of the visitors. Anyway don't know if this legend also applies to men. But anyway have seen many men touch it as well :))

My full name is Petr Fencik and I was born in Prague, and right now as can be seen from my Flickr I live and work in Asia.

I'm a lawyer by profession and now work as a Country Director for a non-profit NGO, the American Bar Association/Rule of Law Initiative. I manage our programs to help train lawyers, judges and prosecutors in 3 Central Asia nations--Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. I'm from Tucson, Arizona, in the USA, but now live in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and travel frequently for work. I've been fortunate to have been in Prague 5 times in the last couple of years, and it's one of my favorite places. I'm married and have 2 grown sons, both in graduate school, one for law and one for medicine.
