Sculpture on building in Na Svihance Street, Prague, Czech Republic, January 8, 2009

The particular photo was taken incidentally strolling along the street in the Vinohrady area which has buildings so rich with numerous architectural elements and decorations.
In fact, I have a craze for Art Nouveau buildings and details, though the house with the deer and the deerstalker is also of certain interest.
I have lived in Prague for about three years, however, working there I had less time to explore every street than now when I regularly visit the Golden City as a tourist...

Enlighted, originally uploaded by mm35exp36.

On this particular photo I don't have special remarks. Praha has sweet spot in my heart as being first abroad trip in 1987 if I recall correct (had no camera then), and has provoked two subsequent trips after fall of Socialist era. This days I occasionally drink Czech beer in our country as a sign of staying in touch with your nice country :)

Prague Playhouse

I'm a member of an English-language theater group in Prague called the
Prague Playhouse. We are interested in getting the word out about our
shows and getting more people involved in the work we're doing. We're
community based which means that we are very interested in getting
people involved in the English-language theater scene.

People can be involved with our theater group in a number of different
ways: as an audience member, as a volunteer helping out behind the
scenes, as an educator (we're hoping to expand our education program
to bring in more native Czech speakers), as a word-of-mouth spreader
and also as an artist: actors, directors, scenic artists, costumers,

We're now in our second season and have big plans for next year.

International help

International help, originally uploaded by Semmi.

This was a gloomy view of my window in September 1968. The tank was positioned here "to guard" the entry to the house that was the seat of journalists' association. I dont believe that you can stop thoughts by tanks. Very difficult to target them...

It wasnt very pleasant to sleep here. I must admit I misused my doll to protect me and placed her above my head. :(

Note, except for an absolute stop of everyday life, the manifestation of resistance - Czechs removed the street signs to at least confuse the invaders. Well, they were confused anyway. The soldiers came from far away Siberia, were disoriented, didnt know where they were and were very puzzled that people hated them. Poor guys had been told they were being sent "to save us".

Prague, originally uploaded by mtdewjunkie.

The photo was taken a day or two before Christmas, and it's when you walk off of the Charles Bridge through the arch. These candy-colored buildings are one of my favorite parts of Prague. Even if the sky or weather is dreary sometimes there's always these bright eye-popping buildings to cheer you up!

Although Prague is known as beautiful city entertaining its guests with architecture, design and history, we have unbelievably beautiful and peaceful places to meditate with nature. Taken on 10.01.2009.

"Coffee & Tram"

"Coffee & Tram", originally uploaded by fotoisto2005.

I took it on a Sunday morning early in December as the essence of two main elements of Prague for me - elegant cafes ( this one is right across the road from the National Theatre ) with one of the magnificent red & white trams trundling along in the background.
