Ahasverus

Ahasverus, originally uploaded by Jan Kranendonk.

I took the photo two years ago, when I spent a week in Prague during the fall, walking around endlessly in that city full of art. I found this small shop in a dark alley on a cloudy day, but Prague looks good under any circumstances. In fact it's one big work of communal art.

Prague Castle view from Petrin

IMG1051, originally uploaded by 89rzweig.

As for the picture itself, it was taken in the autumn last year from Petrin (the hill SW from the Castle) from a place next to Strahov monastery. I usually try to resist from taking pictures like this, because scenic pictures of Prague like this one have been shot million times already...

As for the technical matters, this is one of the pictures that for me justify the use of tele-photo lenses for compressing the depth of the scenery and making the perspective more like we percieve it. It was taken with 90mm lens at f/8 and I think 135mm lens would be even better for the purpose. The rest is just the combination of the film used, the developer and stand developing.
