Old Town at Dusk

I lived in this wonderful city for two years, it was the most important time in my life...so far. I was able to get this shot from the top of U Prince off of Old Town Square right as the sun started to go down. My only problem in taking this picture was stopping, as I just kept shooting and shooting as the sun went down. As Kafka said, this mother has claws...and he is so right!

I haven't fiddled with the colours on this shot - I like the monochromatic quality and the fact that the street artist has managed to exactly replicate the weathered tone of the carved stone. And then there is the way that the torch-holder grows out of the "Z".......
